Bookmark cute-ness

So a friend of my came by with a bunch of crafty stuff she's not using anymore. (Thanks, Becky) and in that bag were little cardstock bookmarks in white, green and pink!! YAY. Something to do while Anna is home sick. So we made TONS of them, and I just now had to FORCE myself to stop the insanity and clean up the mess (as well as the rest of the house...lol) Here are pics of most of the bookmarks. Some new cards I've made

Some friends of mine are having an anniversary and another friend just got ENGAGED!! (SO happy for him) And I got creative and made some cards. Oh, and there's a thank you card for a friend who watched our kids. Hope you like 'em.....

Beware the dangers of scrapbooking.

If you are not sure that you can handle the physical dangers and risks of the craft, don't do it!! Please be careful and weigh out the risks. I didn't and now here I sit INJURED from my beloved craft. "How?" You ask....Good question. Today I was sweeping up the floor after making a mess during some late night scrapbooking session I was holding last night. I was sweeping barefoot, mind you. (mistake #1) Anyway while sweeping, I felt a sharp pain in my right heel, but thought I'd continue sweeping and see what the pain was later. (mistake #2) One more step down and .....OUCH!! I dropped the broom and looked at the bottom of my foot. It was beautifully decorate with an adorable mint-green flower-shaped BRAD! Yes BOTH prongs went deep into my heel and the brad lay flat against my skin. Again....OUCH!!! I jerked it out and the throbbing began. No blood, mind you, and now the pain has subsided, but I just thought it funny that the least dangerous of hobbies has caused me an injury......gee, wonder what would happen if I went bungee jumping!!

The (almost) completed crafting room!!

So I pulled up the carpet in my back living/family room, and Guess WHAT?! There was a pretty nice wood floor under there! So I have put together the room for scrappin' and card-making. YAY! I have always wanted my own 'space' in the house, and this is coming together pretty nicely. Here's pics, along with some new pages I made from our '09 cruise, since working in this room got my creativity going again. ENJOY!

A little something I made this weekend:

SO I thought I'd use some really cool papers from K & Company and some stamp I've had forever. And I was inspired by a layout I saw that included light blue, cream, and red. I NEEDED to make something w/those colors. So here is the finished product. (I'm pretty proud of it)

All Pink!

Today I made an "All pink" card for a challenge that asked for pink. I have TONS of pink papers and stamps, so I thought I'd try it out. Not too shabby. It's not my 'best', but not bad either. I was planning on making a card today for my sister-in-law who has been out of town for 6 weeks in Costa Rica, and she's returning this week. It was going to be an "I missed you" card, but I figured to make it pink to go along with the challenge. I'm definitely still not as good as most of the people who enter these challenges, but I hope to get better with time. Anyway, here is the finished product:

I saw a "Orange and Yellow" challenge and thought, "How hard can THAT be??!"...apparently a LOT harder than I thought. This is what I came up with, and as you can see it's ugly with a capital "U"!! I'll keep trying and checking on other challenges, though....

Anything but a card challenge...

My FIRST challenge! It was called the "Anything But" challenge. Anything but a card, that is! Here it is. A very SIMPLE (but I think elegant) black and red design for a notebook!

Just me, starting out with a "crafty" blog.

This is my first time blogging about crafting. I've blogged about other stuff before, and right now I have a blog about Disney over on wordpress. If you want, you can check it out here. Of course with my love of travel, comes a MAJOR love of photography, and THAT of course, leads to LOTS and LOTS of scrapbooks! And with having all the supplies for scrapbooking comes cardmaking. I am pretty new to cardmaking, and will post a few of my 'primitive' designs below. They don't compare with my friend Stacey's cards, which are AWESOME! But I hope to start making some much nicer cards, as I get more into it.
